Premier vs Select

Premier level teams are in pursuit of playing the highest level of competition, traveling throughout the region and the country. Select level teams have a smaller time commitment and travel mostly within the state.

Different from the Academy model, Select and Premier teams will train and play games with their team and their coach. We strongly believe that teamwork and camaraderie are an essential part of every player’s development. The team environment builds lasting friendships and fosters a sense of community within our club.

Below is a breakdown of differences between the Premier and Select programs.

Premier Program Details:

Seasons:  Fall, Winter, Spring
Teams for playing 11v11
Ages U13 to U19
Seeking the highest level of competition
Training 3 days per week
Regional league play
3-5 weekends of tournaments and friendlies
Travel throughout the region

Expected Schedule:

  • Fall outdoor season begins in August and ends in November
    • Training 3 days per week
    • Attend 3-4 tournaments
    • Regional league play (1-2 weekends)
    • 1-2 weekends of friendly matches per season
  • Winter indoor season begins in December and ends in March 
    • Weekly training (indoor center,  school gyms)
    • Indoor tournament
    • Indoor league season (two sessions – Dec/Jan and Feb/Mar)
      • Weekly games for 6-8 weeks 
  • Spring outdoor season begins in April and ends in July
    • Training 3 days per week
    • Attend 3-4 tournaments
    • Regional league play (1-2 weekends)
    • 1-2 weekends of friendly matches per season
    • Soccer camp sessions offered in June and July
    • Surf Summer Series weekly pickup games July-August

Select Program Details:

Season: Fall, Winter (optional), Spring
Teams for playing 7v7 and 9v9
Ages U8 to U12
Seeking like-minded and like-ability competition
Training 2 days per week
2-4 weekends of tournaments and friendlies
Travel mainly within the state

    • Training 2 days per week
    • Attend 2-3 tournaments
