Greetings Missoula Surf Soccer Club Families,
We’re excited to kick off the Surf Summer Challenge and offer our players an opportunity to tap into their intrinsic motivation to grow both on and off the field! Summer is the perfect time to build powerful habits, sharpen individual skills, and develop the drive that separates good players from great ones.
We’re encouraging all players to train on their own for 25–35 minutes, 3–4 times per week, using the Surf Summer Challenge Program (👇 ). This is a chance to take ownership of personal development, work at your own pace, and rise to new challenges.

Skill Focus AreasFor our 2013 and younger players, we’re focusing on five key technical areas:
For our older players, we’re adding a 6th challenge to develop strength, stamina, and the habit of consistent effort:
Summer Cardio Challenge (Ages 13–16)As part of the Surf Summer Challenge, we’re introducing a cardio program for our 13–16 year-olds focused on improving recovery and building endurance.Players should aim for 3 sessions per week, each lasting 20–35 minutes. The program progresses from steady jogging and tempo runs to sprints and interval training—designed to mirror the physical demands of the game and improve in-game recovery. This challenge encourages players to build strong habits, track progress, and take ownership of their fitness. Better cardio means more energy, quicker recovery, and stronger performances on the field! We’ve included YouTube videos with demonstrations of each skill and activity—some even feature familiar faces from our Surf family! These videos are meant to guide you through the techniques, but feel free to adapt, modify, or increase the difficulty to better suit your player’s level and goals.
